Jockey Tyler Gaffalione was not injured in a spill on Sunday at Gulfstream Park, his agent Matt Muzikar told the Paulick Report on Monday.

Gaffalione’s mount in the 11th race, the Chad Brown-trained favorite Grayosh, clipped heels in the first turn of the nine-furlong turf contest for maiden fillies.

According to the Equibase chart, Grayosh was “in tight between foes early before ducking out suddenly going into the first turn, causing her to clip heels while bumping an outer foe and lose the rider.”

The chart also indicates that Grayosh completed the circuit around the turf course and was apprehended, then walked off the track under her own power.

Muzikar said Gaffalione felt well enough to work two horses on Monday morning for trainer Wesley Ward at Payson Park.

Gaffalione was an Eclipse Award finalist for leading rider in the United States in 2023, and has already won 41 races to be the fourth-winningest rider thus far in 2024. He currently ranks sixth of all riders at the Gulfstream Park Championship meet.
