Glennwood is a boutique thoroughbred breeding operation situated in Versailles, Kentucky. Owned by John D. Gunther, Glennwood is primarily a family business with a select group of outside clients. We strive to breed and raise top-class racehorses, with a focus on quality over quantity so that we can continue to manage each horse like an individual. Although most of our horses are sold commercially as young horses, we also race a small group of homebred, typically yearlings not reaching their reserves at public auction. This involvement as owner/breeder is integral to our operation. Each horse is raised with an eye toward the ultimate goal: racetrack success. Among the racehorses, we are particularly proud to have raised at Glennwood is Triple Crown winner JUSTIFY and G1 stakes winners FIRST SAMURAI, MO TOWN, STAY THIRSTY, TAMARKUZ and VINO ROSSO.
The farm is spread across approximately 350 acres and is situated in close proximity to a number of America’s leading stallion farms, including close neighbour Ashford Stud who now stands Glennwood-breds JUSTIFY and MO TOWN.
