Authentic Update and Video
|
Please enjoy this video from Spendthrift Farm’s General Manager Ned Toffey t.ly/gqxI discussing Authentic’s 2021 breeding season and thoughts on Authentic’s second year at stud, starting in February 2022.
One very interesting nugget that impacts the stallion’s finances is how Authentic’s fertility and sheer volume of mares bred has increased the forecasted live foals from 150 to 183. Based on Ned’s comments, our original projection of live foals was underestimated. Our projection called for 150, but with the numbers highlighted in the video, we believe it will be closer to 183. The increase calculus was done by multiplying Authentic’s mares bred (229), with Ned’s estimate of 80% live foal rate, which leads to a very nice increase. And at $75,000 per live foal, that’s just over $300k of additional gross revenue for the MRH Authentic series. Final numbers will come once the reconciliations are completed after all of the foals have been born and the accounting process is complete; but we’re happy to report we are anticipating our original forecast to exceed our original expectations.
Note: Distributions from Authentic’s 2021 breeding season are expected to be issued to MRH partners in late summer 2022. Please note that stud fees from breeders are not due until a live foal is born and reported. Since foaling season can last into June, final reconciliations, accounting, and revenue collection will not take place until late summer. Once completed, we will post distributions to your MRH wallet and provide an accounting of the finalized numbers.
